Nancy O'Dell began her broadcast career as an anchor and reporter at WPDE-TV which was located in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Then she became an anchor in the morning and a reporter at WCBD TV. The articles written by O'Dell in Charleston, about how the Charleston police dealt with DUI cases in a manner that was lenient, led to an inquiry by State Law Enforcement Division. This investigation led to a more strict instruction for the state's authorities. Ms. O'Dell was awarded the Best Report of the Award from the Associated Press for South Carolina's media. O'Dell then worked for NBC's Miami-based station WTVJ-TV as an investigative reporter, before she joined Access Hollywood in the role of co-anchor for the weekend. The present role of O'Dell as a host on Access Hollywood is complemented by her work on NBC News Today, Dateline NBC, and NBC News. The anchor has hosted a number of pre-shows and arrivals shows to The Emmys as well as The Golden Globe Awards. The other shows she has hosted include Miss USA, the Miss USA pageant, and Miss Universe.
